We are The Mechanical Mages, FTC Team 20288. We are a 5th-year FTC team located in Bethany, Oregon. Our team consists of 18 students that go to Sunset High, Westview High, Jesuit High, Tumwater Middle, ISB, and Stoller Middle. We are very enthusiastic about having the opportunity to participate in FIRST Tech Challenge. We took on the 2025-26 Season, Decode, intending to learn, compete, build relationships, and have fun! Throughout the season, we overcame many challenges and grew as a team!

Our mission is to learn about the hardware, software, and outreach that forms a functional and successful team and develops practical skills for the future. As a team, we prioritized expressing gracious professionalism in our meetings and competitions throughout the season. We worked hard throughout the season using our previous knowledge to create an advanced robot and inspire others to get involved in the world of STEAM!

Robot: Hungry Hungry Hippo
Iterative design process ensured reliability and goal alignment.
System comprises 8 motors and 2 servos, allocated for driving, intake, and slides.
Servos utilized for hanging, deposition, drone launching, pixel grabbing, and intake.
Utilization of Misumi SAR 330 slides, 3D-printed deposition box with LED pixel count indicators.
Features include gate pushers for passage, 3D-printed intake spokes with tubing, and a redesigned drone launcher with servo control.
